(no subject)

For a birthday present my aunt and uncle got me the first pair of glasses that I've had since I was eleven and switched to contacts. I just got them today, and holy shit did I not realize how bizarre this would be when I'm used to my vision starting right up against my eye. It makes me feel a little like I'm wearing those drunk googles they make school kids wear when they're going through an anti-drugs course with the way things start out blurred at my peripherals and come into focus as I move my head and they enter the line of sight of the lenses making the world feel like it's swaying around the edges. Which is kind of fun, but I'm sure I'm gonna end up falling over at least once before I've gotten totally used to it! And it will be nice not to have to mess around with contacts every time I want to see.

In New Game + news, somebody prompted a pairing that I really hoped someone would prompt me for when I put it in my sign-up sheet but didn't really think it would happen, yay! And I've got at least an inkling of an idea for each of the other prompts I've received, so I'll be crossing my fingers that those inklings will grow into full plot bunnies.

Finally, I'm toying with the idea of signing up for Parallels, a Yuletide-inspired fic exchange for rare Asian source fandoms that just opened nominations, but I'm not sure just yet. My sign-up would be very game-heavy, so I think for a week or so I might keep an eye on how many people that I know are gamers join the community or talk about it elsewhere.
