Oct. 12th, 2006 11:56 pmThis year for Nanowrimo I'm sort've considering trying to write fifty-thousand words worth of fic in my old fandoms. The things I was into in the mid-to-late-nineties. Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, the early seasons of Buffy the Vampire, fairy tales, and things like that. I was twelve the first time I wrote a fic (or, the first time I knew that that's what I was writing and put it out on the internet for people to see), and, like you might guess, everything I put out back then and for a few years after was awful. Incredibly terrible spelling (I never had a spellchecker on my computer until just a few years ago when I found Roughdraft, and for some reason spelling was a realstruggle for me when I was young), Mary Sues everywhere you look, almost every character being out of character, and pretty much every other crime you could think of a young writer committing.
So, I've been thinking lately that it would be nice to go back and give some stories that don't suck. Sort've a quiet thank you to the fandoms for putting up with me during my stupid fankiddy period, plus giving myself an excuse to go on a nice nostalgia kick from digging through the old fandom loves.
