As a birthday present to myself I ordered a DVD set from Amazon. The first time I tried ordering the order was canceled because the storefront I ordered it from turned out to be out. So I ordered from a different storefront, which was also cheaper so yay!
Then yesterday I got another notice from Amazon saying that my order had been canceled, and my credit card wouldn't be charge. So yet again I placed another order. And then that night I got a message from Amazon saying that my second try at ordering had been shipped.
After double-checking my messages I realized that, crap, they'd actually ended up sending me two cancellation notices on my first order, but I didn't check the order numbers to notice that so I just assumed that the second one had also been canceled (they only had one copy in stock when I ordered it and the price was good enough that I knew there was a good possibility it had been snatched up).
I immediately ran back to Amazon and sent a message to the other people I'd ordered from asking if they could cancel my order because there'd been a screw-up, but apparently they either didn't get it in time or didn't care because this afternoon I got a message saying that they'd shipped my package too.
I really hope that they'll get back in touch with me and allow me to return it; I know that the first place that shipped will since they gave Amazon their returns policy, but they're five bucks cheaper and since I'll have to pay shipping to send it back I'd rather the cost be taken out of the price difference between the two set instead of ultimately paying so much that I might as well have just gotten it directly from Amazon itself.
