The 1982 film of the Annie musical was one of my big huge favorites when I was younger, to the point that I still have to stop and watch for at least a while if I'm flipping through the TV channels and find it on. So when I heard that the comic Little Orphan Annie strip ended yesterday I had to hunt it down so I could see how they decided to bring the story to a close.

Holy shit, what? (Possibly has more impact combined with the second to last strip, to see how Daddy Warbucks hasn't moved from that spot.)

I get that they were trying to end on a "Though we leave them here, the adventures go on!" type of vibe and all, but, geeze, there are ways to do it that wouldn't leave me feeling like they just kicked me in the childhood.
