I can't believe it's this time of year again! First, let me thank you for taking the time to write me a story in one of my favorite little fandoms. I really hope that whatever pairing you were matched to didn't make you stare horrified at your assignment for, but if it did I want to reassure you right now that gen is always, always, always an option with me and would not disappoint me at all. And if the characters themselves can't work together for you at all I always try to provide the canons for as many of my requests as I can, so hopefully another one will click for you!
There aren't listed (or signed up for) in any order of preference, just alphabetically, so don't think that you'll disappoint me if you weren't assigned to the first one on the list. I have way too much trouble cutting my list of requests down to just four to want any of them anything less than a hell of a lot. Oh, and the way I list pairings doesn't indicate any sort preferences for who's more dominate in the relationship or anything like that either, I always just list whoever got more screen time first. Finally, feel free to toss any of the plot ideas I throw off completely out the window; they're there to hopefully provide you with a plot bunny to start from if you need one, not because that's the plotline I have my heart set on receiving.

Ladd/Chane
God, anything! I would love it if you could get the pairing to work, or even just have it be one-sided on his side, but if you can't get your head around it (and I completely understand if you can't) I would love just another confrontation between them (maybe him making good on his threat to go after Huey?) just as much. Or heck, just them running into each other on the street someday and him being abnormally peaceful as he crazies at her if you're not good with fight scenes.
Okay, out of every request on the list I know this is the one most likely to make you go "She wants what?" if you were assigned it, and I'm sorry about that!
It was the dub that really made me crave this pairing badly. The original Japanese subtitled didn't, what' had been translated of the novels when I first checked them out didn't, but Dub!Ladd called her a peach and I don't even know why (I'm not even a fan of pet names) but just like that I suddenly wanted horrible romances of them. Uh, "horrible" as in "Ladd is an awful, awful, man, and as we've seen with Lua being as much in love as he can be doesn't change that at all", not as in "I want you to write schlocky badfic!" or anything like that. (Oh, and speaking of that, if you go the romance route I would really prefer it if falling for her doesn't change him for the better and getting courted by a psychopath doesn't make her suddenly become worse.)
If you want to go the romance route but can't think of a plotline to go with it, perhaps someone gets Lua the massive amounts of therapy she needs while Ladd's off in jail, and once he gets back to find she no longer wants himgets petulant decides, fine, he's realized he was wrong anyway; a glorious fight to the death that he's sure he'd win would make for much better love than his girl just passively letting herself be killed. And then poor Chane's a thousand times more baffled by his attempts at wooing her than she ever was by Claire's.

Ever since I first saw the movie in theaters I've wanted fic for this pairing, and every time I rewatch it I'm disappointed that the fandom just doesn't exist. They're so obsessed with each other! The time Frank gives Carl his exact location and Carl refuses to believe him! They always talk to each other on Christmas! Maybe something could be done with that, story wise, whether it's Carl finally having someone to join him in the office on Christmas after the movie, or visiting/calling Frank during his time imprisoned in France.
Like I said, this one I've been craving ever since it came out in theaters back in 2002. Every so often I'll poke around the internet thinking that somebody, somewhere, must be ficcing them, but I've always been proven wrong. I love the way they click off each other, smooth Frank and sharp people-awkward Carl. I love how Frank loves to toy with Carl but at the same time latched onto him so easily based on so little. And Carl's expression towards the end, when he's listening to Frank unravel that first check that he shows him (and again when he has him do the same thing for his boss, and again when Frank shows up at the end). I honestly don't know how they didn't win over at least a few ficcers.

Noodle/Murdoc
This one, I know, might outright squick you out, so I really want to reassure you that writing their relationship as just old friends, or brother/sister, nothing romantic, is fine. I would never want to make someone feel like they need to write something that disgusts them if they want to make me happy!
I just got into the fandom this summer, and they're the pair that immediately jumped out at me. He's such an awful man, but it's so subtly obvious that he cares for her (mostly in how rarely she's the focus of the constant stream of insults pouring out of his mouth towards everyone else, and in his quick downward spiral as soon as she was gone), that she's quite possibly the only thing he actually cares about outside of fame and his own dick. And she's probably the only girl in the world who can go on liking him after dealing with his horribleness for even five minutes, let alone so many years, and she knows just when to call him on his bullshit and when to shrug and let him keep blathering away. I really think that she's the only woman in the world he'd ever even have a chance of getting into something like a (open, since I can't imagine he'd ever being monogamous) relationship with.
If you're like I was at the beginning of this summer, right now you're probably thinking '...Wait, the fictional band has a plot?' Yes, yes it does! Curiously wandering around to figure out what the hell that plot was and how it was told got me into the fandom and the pairing in a big way this year (actually, it's the only pairing on this list that I've written myself, so if you're the type of person who likes checking out their recipient's take on the characters they're requesting you can find that here)
Like with Ladd above, I would really prefer it if you don't soften Murdoc's character just because he's in a relationship with/acting as a big brother to/whatever Noodle. He's an amazing sleazy asshole, and that's how I like him! Also, please don't have him perving after her during the first phase when she's still just a little girl. Demon Day's onward (that is, fourteen-up) I'm fine with it, but not when she's a ten-year-old who doesn't even speak English to tell him to get away or to call out to anyone else for help.
I know that there are all types of consent issues wrapped up around somebody older getting involved with someone they've know since that person was a child (especially when they spent a few years raising that child, though Murdoc probably didn't have much to do with that), but I really can't see Noodle as feeling unable to say no to him or like she needs to please him; at least since Demon Days (and even more now) I've really felt in their interviews and whatnot together that they're equals in spite of the big age gap.
(And as an aside, if you'd like to add some inanimate concept shipping into story, I see the great love of Noodle's life as being music, but music is not a character so it isn't requestable. *g*)
The major thing you need to get into the Gorillaz canon is their autobiography, Rise of the Ogre
Then of course there's their albums:

They have a Gorillaz youtube channel where you can watch all their music videos, animated shorts, documentaries, and pretty much any other video things you could want to watch.
Their newest album, Plastic Beach, has an online point-and-click adventure game adding to the plot.
Murdoc did a series of pirate radio broadcasts and a residency on XFM radio, and a twitter also carrying on the plot (mostly the 'Murdoc has gone completely bugfuck insane' part of the plot)
And they've all got blogs on the Gorillaz site (Murdoc's the only one being used much, but you can get to the others through the others through the friends links at the top)
As you can probably guess by now, Gorillaz canon is scattered all over the place so if you go digging you can find a lot more than just this, but the one last thing I'm going to recommend checking out just for the pairing is this Murdoc interview which goes some into his diving into Hell for her (if he's not lying through his teeth/wasn't completely delusional).
Order of the Stick
Vaarsuvius/Haley
Anything you can do with them would be great! I've shipped these two ever since it was revealed that V insists on rooming only with Haley and that Haley's the only one that knows the answer to the mystery of V's gender, but my fondness for the pairing got much stronger when the group was split and Haley seemed far and away the one one V was most worried about. Even the voices in V's head right after they were reunited equated her with Inkyrius ("Tell her nothing. Remember how your mate acted?")!
If you can managed to write a whole story only using pronouns for Haley (and any unrequested characters who show up) that'd be awesome, and if you can't I've always seen V as more male but femslash is cool too! As would be having V be MtF or FtM, if you get an idea pointing you in that direction. You could even set the story through the eyes of one of the others watching the two of them and not knowing which is right. The only thing that would bother me is using gender-neutral pronouns (zie, hir, etc.) since nobody in the canon ever uses them.
Order of the Stick is a webcomic, so it's the easiest of them all to get with no chance if it suddenly vanishing barring unforeseen site trouble! The first strip is here and at this moment it goes up to 757.
Finally, general preferences!
I prefer lightness and humor over angst and bleakness, but if angst comes more easily for you I'd rather you try to at least end on a hopeful note if not a totally happy one.
I really can't deal with major character death this year. If you look back on most of the past several entries in my journal you'll notice that my mom and cousin both died this year, and while I'm fine with minor characters dying off in droves (I wouldn't have requested Ladd this year if I couldn't *g*) but not with one of the main characters getting killed off on a Christmas morning that's already going to be pretty bleak for me without my mom there.
I'm not that into porn. If you do include sex I'm very hard to squick (bodywaste play (scat, urine, or vomit; blood and menses are fine) and rape are the only things I'd really rather not get) but I need to be in the right mood to really get into kink and there's no guarantee I'll be in that mood on Christmas.
