I will update this later with all the missing prompts, but for now I'll just say that while I don't mind stories going into darker places I would prefer that they end on a happy, or at least hopeful, note and without any major character death.
Final Fantasy Legend
Characters: The Tower Climbers, and The Creator
First of all, I know that a lot of people have only experienced this game through Chokes McGee's Let's Play (it was how I first really got into it myself, though I did my own playthrough later) and if that's what you have in your head for it I'm fine with you using Rezen and her group as your tower climbers. If you don't, run with whatever mix of humans, mutants, and monsters you prefer!
Tower Climbers: For the tower climbers, something with them exploring some of those tiny little one-screen rooms you find between major levels might be fun, assuming that if you're actually in them there's a bit more to them than just a few people standing around! Or something that goes more in-depth about their decision to fight at the end there; the whole game you know that if you reach the top The Creator will grant you a wish for succeeding, is it just finding out that this test was set up for his own entertainment that made them turn on him, or had the thought been brewing for awhile as they traveled through all these screwed up worlds? What do they do post-game, now being the people who killed God? Do they go back to their home world to live, or do any of them decided to settle down in one of the other lands?
The Creator: For The Creator, how did he choose the starter character to start prodding into climbing the tower? He's there right from the start and pops up regularly throughout, giving you tips about what's to come. Is your group special, or does he actually try that with lots of others and you're just the ones who finally took the bait (or survived doing so)? And aren't those hints kinda cheating at his own test? Is it that he likes them enough for some reason to bend his own rules, or is he just so sick of waiting for someone to make it that he decides to give things an extra push? How did he come up with this test to begin with?
Liar! Uncover the Truth
Pairings: MC/Keima, MC/Haruichi
I requested two of my favorite pairings from the game here, even though both are liars! Keima because his lover ending stands out as the only one where the guy works his ass off to fix his faults and become worthy of the MC's affections instead of just sorta hovering around pestering her until she decides they're too pathetic to not hear out, Haruichi because even if you don't purchase his complete route he's the only one who across all of his endings (except the bad end, which just feels out of character compared to the rest) is obviously really in love with the MC. Also, his lie is a pretty sexy one.
I also really enjoy how the game makes it clear that the MC is not the greatest prize herself, while she's pretty and fun she's also terrible at being an adult and too judgmental (with the two guys here it's very obvious in Haruichi's route, where she's constantly having unkind thoughts about poor Ayumi even though the poor kid's obviously super on her side). The only thing I ask when it comes to picking a name for her is that you go with one that's Japanese.
MC/Keima: After his chapter I really didn't expect his love ending to make like Keima again, out of all the guys he was in the top three of those I came out really disliking after learning their truth (and, as a side-note, please don't have liars number three or five show up!) but, like I said in my sign-up, I really appreciated that the dude worked his ass off for months to make things right and even then is only hoping that the MC would be willing to try being friends with him again rather than expecting romance. So something about her growing to trust him again would be lovely. Or maybe an AU where it was Keima instead of Shizuo who was her college romance, could having her there have stopped his bad habits before they began? Something where Yuri shows up could be fun, she can be so protective of the MC, but how does that mesh with Keima being another of their old friends?
MC/Haruichi: Haruichi was always one of my favorite guys, but after playing through his lover's route I ended up being so satisfied with that as an ending for the MC that I hardly cared about finishing the main game. I love how by the end they've reached a point where he's willing to leave his family for her, she's willing to at least consider joining it for him, and it's not treated like an easy decision on either of their parts. He goes a couple weeks without seeing her just so he can fully consider whether she or the family means more to him! Uncomfortable with the whole Yakuza thing though she is, she all but shoves him back at them when they're in trouble because she knows how terrible he'd feel if he wasn't there to help! A look at his thoughts while he was deciding what he really wanted could be nice. Or something with the two of them slowly navigating where they're going to end up post-game, now that they have time to consider it together instead of it just being all or nothing for one of them. If he does leave entirely it might be fun to explore what happens with his company; it was so important to him that he built this one thing on his own before being called on to take over the Mamiya family, will it still succeed on its own or will it turn out that his parents were secretly helping him out behind the scenes after all without his realizing, and how would either make him react? (Personally I prefer to think that he really did manage it alone, but the MC comforting him when he realizes he didn't could lead to some nice mushiness too)
Digital Devil Saga
Pairings: Argilla/Gale, Argilla/Jinana
Let me just say, feel free to get as creepy/sexy/sexicreepy about all the xeno and body horror and vore as you want in this one. I am totally all about that in the DDSverse. Pretty big on weapon kink here too! The characters exploring their awakened emotional compassion would be fun too, whether it's deliberately (with both sides in on it, I'd prefer no one-sided emotional manipulation) treating each other in different ways to see what reaction occurs or one of them being surprised by a feel they don't recognize that the other caused and trying to work out what it means. Or why they feel certain things stronger about the other than they do towards other comrades they have. I like the feel of the Junkyard setting a bit more than the outside world, but it's not a strong preference.
Argilla/Gale: I've always been a little fascinated with the idea of Argilla/Gale. The only member of Embryon who went berserk from not feeding and attacked a comrade, and the only branded person we see throughout both games who resists feeding to the point that she was literally fading away without going berserk from it. One of the members to quickly unlock and embrace her emotions, and the one who spends the longest trying to stay as he'd always been. I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of specific prompts here, it's just a dynamic I'd really love to see someone play with. Maybe something post-Lupa where Argilla tries to be there for Gale the way nobody could for her after Jinana, awkwardly working out the empathy of shared experiences.
Argilla/Jinana: I can never get enough Jinana fix-it fic. Argilla realizes what's up with her and sits her down somewhere quiet to say "Hey, there are consequences you might not know about for not eating"? Or wraps up Sera's hair and hustles her in to sing at Jinana? Slices off a hunk of herself to feed Jinana in the hope that it will tide her over for a bit? Or, if not a fix-it story, then something with them reuniting in the sun, or after resurrecting would be great too. If the later, feel free to get as tropey as you want with the whole being drawn to each other across lifetimes thing, though I wouldn't want them to be outright soulmates (would be kinda mean to game-era Roland for one thing, lol)
Long Live the Queen
Pairing: Elodie/Ignatius
You know, the only reason I ever got this ending was because I wanted to get the achievement for getting him to divorce then figured I might as well go for the match, because otherwise I would never be willing to toss Julianna in jail and not release her. So I was honestly surprised when I got it and it turned out to be one of my very favorites. I really like how we know from WoG that the reason he abstains at the vote of no confidence is because he's grateful to her for his position but thinks that she's completely mad for treating his sister the way she did, and it takes you literally making her the very best Elodie she can be to make him see her as someone he could love, and even then she really has to work for it to make him consider marrying someone so young showing that she must genuinely want to be with him to bother. And, honestly, it just makes me happy for the poor guy to finally have someone who really wants him.
Really, just anything building up this relationship, with Elodie slowly convincing Ignatius that, yeah, there are potential matches for her that are closer to her own age or better options politically, but for whatever reason she wants to marry him and that is it for her. And that she was someone who could make him happy as well. Why did she choose him (whims of the player aside)? From how long their courtship took, at a time when I'm sure the whole country was itching for her to produce an heir ASAP considering all that had happened, presumably she had to have chosen him out of real affection, but what sparked that? Or something about the two of them and the Julianna issue; I always like to imagine that if Elodie did not react to her breaking out of jail by going all wildly anti-lumen and picks Ignatius at some point goes "Listen, there is no way my sister is a traitor, you really need to pardon her (without giving her back her title plz)."
Lux-Pain
Characters: Nami Kamishiro, Nami Kamishiro & Atsuki Saijo, Yayoi Kamishiro & Nami Kamishiro
So, can ya guess who my favorite character is? Lux-Pain is a really nice visual novel with an interesting set-up, loveable characters, and a really god-awful translation that can drive people away before they get far enough to get drawn in by the first two parts. I really love Nami, our girl who could so easily become an animal-based version of Poison Ivy except that she judges people on an individual basis instead of letting her hatred for humanity overwhelm her, and her relationships with both her sister and Saijo.
So, yeah, I love Nami. I love her both as the sweet little freeloader she is, and also as someone who you absolutely can buy would hate the human race considering that her psychic connection with animals is so close that in the ending it proves to effectively give her a hive mind and how damned awfully we can treat them. And, like I said in the sign-up, I love how in spite of that she does not at all allow herself to get overwhelmed by antipathy towards the human race and as long as you treat animals right will be as friendly as she can be.
With Saijo future-fic could be really fun. She's got to be on FORT's watchlist for future recruitment. Does she jump at the chance to get to see him again, or is she unable to bring herself to because it would mean leaving Yayoi alone? Does he try to convince her not to join, since unlike most of its members she still has a life of her own outside of the organization? Or does he take her under his wings to train her in the ways of fighting Silent? (While I nominated them as an & couple I would be fine with them as a pairing too if you prefer, as long as it's set a decent amount of time in the future).
With Yayoi I'd love something about Nami observing her sister coming to her own after the events of Chapter 7, going from the quiet depressed girl to the goofy person she becomes. Or Yayoi coming to understand her sister better, why she avoids her school so much and spends so much time living off the generosity of strangers. Or Yayoi helping Nami grieve for Melody post-game, even if she can't fully understand what happened there, that even though Melody's still alive it's her mind that's gone.
