Sep. 11th, 2003 02:04 pmThis morning I got up and decided to do a 24-hour comic. Yes, my mind really is that random.
So, I started a little less the two hours ago. I've just finished my second page, so I'm a little ahead of schedule. Unfortunately, my drawing hand already hurts like hell.
It's a problem I really should have thought of ahead of time. Years ago I broke my hand, and ever since then I can't use pencils or pens for very long without the big pain setting in. I'm actually amazed that I managed to get so far, I know that drawing tends to be a lot easier then writing, but when I can't write for more then five minutes at a time that's not saying much. When I get to more text-filled pages I'd definately need to start taking long breaks between (or even during) pages.
So, I'm quitting for the moment. I'm keeping track of the fact I've done two hours, and either later today when my hand feels up to it or tomorrow morning I'll start it up again from that time. Or, I could switch to using Photoshop instead of pencils and paper once my hand stops hurting, I can use thick pens like the my tablet's one without any real problems as long as I don't start twisting in any odd angles. But then anyone who wandered by behind me at the wrong moment would catch a glimpse of (not so) red-hot Harry/Percy action, and I don't need that.
