This has nothing to do with anything, but I halfway suspect that Parvati is going to end up becoming a Death Eater (or possibly an extremist vigilante or something on the good side). This is based entirely on the more unpleasant forms of her namesake. I may be giving JKR a bit more credit for her possible subtlety then she deserves (she does tend to be fairly anvily when trying to give people symbolic names. 'Hmm, Harry's being followed by a black dog. He's also being chased by a guy named Sirius Black. I wonder if there could possibly be any connection there.'), but I imagine (if I'm right) her thought processes went something like this; "Let's see, I need a name for the Indian girl who's going to become evil that'll hint at the fact but not be too obvious. Durgha's right out, as is Bhavani. Really, Devi's good, but maybe still a little too obvious. Hey, this one of her forms fits with the neat alliteration theme I have going with her twin! Parvati it is!"

Of course, I could be completely wrong. After all, Parvati is one of Devi's nicest forms, so she could end up being a big supporter of the good guys. But I like my way better.
