person4If anyone would like to read it, I've finally (after much procratination) finished my Beauty and the Beast fairy tale fic, Book of Hours.
Damn did that thing balloon. I thought it might hit ten pages, but it ended up half a page shy of thirty.
I'm kind of afraid that my Beauty (or my Beast) might be a Mary Sue. If you think so, please let me know because I'm really not sure. I might only be thinking so at all because I'm overly self-critical.
And while I'm thinking of it, you might notice that it's archived as part of the While We Tell of Yuletide Treasure obscure pairing/fandom secret santa project (in response to an unfilled request). It's starting up again soon, and if you'd love to see fic for a pairing or fandom that you haven't found anywhere and don't mind writing at least a thousand words (that's only about 18 words a day! Come on, we can all do that!) for someone else for a pairing you've had some choice in (you get to write a list of rare pairings/fandoms you'd be willing to write, although apparently you should be wary of using the term "any" as you get something weird that you can't see at all) then I really encourage you to sign up. Last year I got an absolutely wonderful Harry/Percy fic, which was worth every second that I spent on the fic I wrote for the challange. And there's a chance that you'll end up having every one of your pairings filled, since the list of unfilled requests remains up until the next contest for anyone to write.

(ETA: *laughs* Well, after peeking at the ff.n Fairy Tale section while uploading my story I've somehow become much less worried about the Sueishness of my characters. I bet you could never guess why. *grins*)
