It's funny how a silly little thing can make you ridiculously happy, isn't it?

Last year I found the first video game I ever beat online and downloaded it, and as soon as I saw the title screen I felt like I was eight again. I still remember how at the very end of the game there was a puzzle that I couldn't figure out for ages (I'm assuming, from the type of game it is, that it was one of those ones where you need to grab items in exactly the right order, and if you mess up you'll end up impossibly stuck, though I can't remember any of the details), and the feeling I got when what I needed to do suddenly clicked after I'd tried it over and over and I finally reached the end.

I look forward to getting to that point and having to figure it out again since I've forgotten.

Also, for anyone interested, Yuletide is open for requests again. There's only a couple more days to do it, so if you want to join and haven't yet you need to get in soon. And this year has a neat new feature when you check out the list of fandoms you can choose from, where instead of just seeing ones that people've requested highlighted in yellow you can now actually see the exact breakdown in numbers of how many people have requested a fandom and how many have offered to write for it. You can also click a button at the top to see the fandoms which need writers the most, either because someone asked for it but nobody offered to write it (one've my fandoms is among those, sadly), because the number of requestors is higher than the number of writers, or because there's an equal (low) number of both writers and requestors which probably means that the requestor just offered to write it too.
