Totally unspoilery reaction to PotC3:

...Somehow I walked away from that movie shipping Barbossa/Elizabeth like mad, and I have no idea why.

That was exactly my reaction to the movie. It seemed to me that there were so many Barbossa/Elizabeth moments, subtle or not.

It was very surprising, since I'd gone through the first two movies without really shipping anyone (other than a little Norrington/Elizabeth, since I always end up rooting for the guy who doesn't get the girl if he isn't a complete bastard), then within their very first scenes together I found myself going 'Really, me?' as I realized I was wanting to ship them without consciously knowing why it had started.

Then I pirated the movie so I could check a detail in it for my 50 sentences thing, rewatched the beginning to focus on how they interacted with each other, noticed all the non-verbal communication they had with each other, and realized that that must have been what started it.
