Finally, one of these memes that I can actually answer! I've always liked reading these "make lists of whatever, then answer the hidden questions" type memes, but they almost always have at least one section of the list that I can't come up with answers for (generally anythings asking about hates; I've just never been able to get that negatively worked up over something fictional).

I tried coming up with a decent mix of slash, het, and femslash for these (although femslash ended up more left out then I originally wanted since in the middle of making the list I forgot two f/f pairings I'd planned to put in it), as well as putting in a goodly amount of ones from fandoms that people reading my journal would know. So these aren't my absolute favorite pairings in the world or anything.

Six Pairings I Like

1. Heather/Douglas (Silent Hill 3)
2. Brother/Yuna (Final Fantasy X/X-2)
3. Harry/Percy (Harry Potter)
4. Lloyd/Zelos (Tales of Symphonia)
5. Salome/Chris (Suikoden III)
6. Relena/Dorothy (Gundam Wing)

Three Ships I've Abandoned

7. Harry/Draco (Harry Potter)
8. Seifer/Squall (Final Fantasy VIII)
9. Seymour/Tidus (Final Fantasy X) (How obvious is it that I once had an interest in hate-sex pairings and have lost it?)

Three Ships I've Never Liked

10. Roxas/Axel (Kingdom Hearts)
11. Phoenix/Edgeworth (Phoenix Wright)
12. Will/Elizabeth (Pirates of the Caribbean)

Two Ships That Have Piqued My Interest

13. Katara/Toph (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
14. Harry/Minerva (Harry Potter)

1. Why do you dislike #11 so much?
...I get the feeling the person writing these questions must have meant "ships I've never liked" more strongly than I read it. Anyway, I actually bought the first game right after it came out because I kept hearing people go on about how slashy the two of them are on top of it just being a really good game, so I went into it fully expecting to ship them. But then Edgeworth struck me as pretty much asexual, and Nick as mostly straight (though there are a couple of slash pairings I like for him) and couldn't get into the two of them together at all. I'll still read fic about them every so often from people that I know are good writers, but it just doesn't do anything for me.

2. Who do you know that ships #13?
Nobody! I'm not into the (scary scary) Avatar fandom at all, I just get plot bunnies for the pairing every so often when I catch the show. If I ever do go digging for fic in the fandom it'll probably be to find that pairing.

3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?
Current favorite would be post-Hallows, Percy wanting to apologize to Harry for what a prat he'd been for the last few books but not being able to do so as easily as he did with his family and Harry being willing to wipe the slate clean and try getting to know him outside of being the perfect prefect because so many people he's cared about have died that he doesn't want to turn his back on anyone (well, anyone who didn't just pop out of nowhere trying to get close to the Boy Who Lived) who's sincerely trying to be friends. The two of them gradually getting closer together.

4. What is your favorite moment for #1?
When he'd ready to shoot her in the amusement park, and she doesn't make the slightest move to stop him or even try to dodge, apparently perfectly willing to trust his judgment if he really believes that killing her will make everything go back to normal.

5. How long have you been following couple #6?
Pretty much since they first met on the show. I know the GW fandom is almost all about the yaoi, but the way Dorothy and Relena interact with each other (well, mostly on Dorothy's end) always interested me so much more than any other possible pairing.

6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop caring?
Like I said after #9, when I was younger I really liked pairings based around hate-sex, but eventually I just lost interest in them. Seifer/Squall is the one pairing out of the group that I can occasionally read and enjoy still, though, since I do like rival-slash without real hate behind it so I'm okay with them when it's written that way. I guess I should say in this case that it's more that I abandoned what I originally looked for in the ship.

7. Which ship do you prefer--#2 or #4?

Oh, geeze, this is probably the two toughest to pick between on the list. I think I'm going to go with Yuna/Brother, though, because the Symphonia fandom is such a seething crap-pit that looking for anything good is hard even though there's tons of fic for the pairing, while for the most part Brother/Yuna is safely untouched by the fandom (as a pairing, I know poor Brother gets a lot of crap in fics where they aren't paired).

8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
...Neither? I don't hate them or anything, and I'm glad the fans of them are happy, I just don't like them myself.

9. What interests you about #14?
If you'd told me before Hallows that I'd be interested in this pairing one day I'd have looked at you like you were crazy. But I have a thing for May/December relationships, which is a point in its favor to begin with, and then Harry found the rage needed to fuel a crucio from McGonagall being spat on, a ridiculously small action compared to all the people he's seen being, you know, killed and stuff. Sure it was probably just the straw that broke the camel's back, but it was still enough to make me take interest.

10. When did you stop liking #7?
See the answer to question number six, with the addition of it being really hard to find fics slashing them where they're both in character. I can push that from my mind when they're set quite a ways in the future and the author says this and this and this has happened to change/mellow their personality, but since I prefer fics set during the time period of the books that doesn't work.

11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the series?
Haha, no. I was never even all that into Tidus/Seymour, it was just very hard for me to come up with answers to that question since I never really think of myself as having abandoned any ship that I really like because there'll almost always come a day when I'm struck by the urge to go hunt down good fic for it again.

12. What's a song that reminds you of #5?
I've never really been the type of person who matches music up to things. Just looking over my MP3s, I guess I'll Stand By You by The Pretenders. Or maybe On Your Shore by Enya, since it has the water and time imagery in it (although my Chris will always be the Flame Champion).

13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
Heather/Douglas, I guess. I have this big, deep, massive love for each of them on their own that multiplies by a few orders of magnitude when they're together. A shame that as far as I know there's only one other person in the world who actually ships the two of them.

14. Which do you dislike the most?
I guess Roxas/Axel, because it's the only one where I think there'd be more fic for the pairing I prefer (Hayner/Roxas) if it wasn't for it.

15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
If we just look at one side of the couple, I think Brother and Lloyd would get along the best out of every set of people there, but I wouldn't set Zelos on poor Yuna when she's actually getting a chance to get out and have fun. Heather and Harry could commiserate with each other about being idolized by a secret community and having their lives go to hell for something they did before they can remember, and if it's a bit in the future Harry and Douglas could talk about being in law-enforcement, but neither Heather nor Douglas would like Percy and Douglas would probably feel out of place being so much older than all of them. Plus, being around someone who has the same name as her father would probably depress Heather.

All in all, I think the best match-up for all concerned would be Chris, Salome, Dorothy, and Relena. They'd probably spend most of the night talking shop, but at least it's a conversation they'd all be actively engaged by.

16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if yes.
Nope. Not for lack of trying on Brother's end.

17. Did #4 have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely?
It depends on how you play the game! Almost every way you could play it ends with things as happy for the two of them as it's really possible for them to be (although only one of those ways will end with them riding off into the sunset together), but one plot branch is very depressingly bad for the two of them.

18. What would make you start shipping #14?
Finding decent fic for the pairing, or getting a solid plot bunny for a story about them. I'd also need to refresh myself on the entire series to see if I'd really be interested in them outside of that one scene.

19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer--#2 or #6?
Brother/Yuna, which I know would have a lot of FFXverse fans throwing things at my head. Dorothy and Relena I really like more as the tension they have in the series; it just wouldn't be the same if they hopped into bed together. On the other hand, I want Brother to have a happily-ever-after, and he wants it to be with Yuna, so I want that too.

20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?
Sora heads back to Twilight Town to try working out what all those feelings he got from Roxas when he was there are. He ends up having something happen with Hayner (not necessarily anything romantic, just the two of them connecting) and Roxas ends up finally being pretty much in peace inside of him since he finally gets some closure for his feelings. Axel rests in peace. Maybe his soul and heart rejoin each other in the afterlife, and he gets to be reborn as a baby who loves staring into fires and gets to live the long hopefully happy life he wasn't able to get when the heartless invaded his world the first time around.

The end!
